Mundane Monday Morning Music: No Doubt – “Just A Girl”

Mornin’ Readers!

Winter is definitely on its way here in Canada’s capital! The snow has been falling, and it is beginning to build up on the ground. My “bosses” are anxious to check it out since they find it fascinating!

As for this week’s MMMM pick, It was so tempting to start playing some holiday music, but I resisted this urge. I can sit on my hands for two more weeks. ๐Ÿ˜› Instead, I went back to a stand-by favourite: No Doubt. This time, I chose to pick a track off of their Tragic Kingdom album for a pick-me-up for a snowy and windy Monday morning.ย  Of all of the songs on this album, I chose “Just A Girl” because it’s rebellious, fun and it’s also telling of what girls are feeling about their place in this world and how they want it to change. This song is also getting me moving at my desk as I work, so it is the perfect song to have on this morning!

I hope that “Just A Girl” makes this mundane Monday morning a little more fun today!

Until my next post, Readers!

Reese

Ah! Now this song brings me back to first year university and dancing at Oliver’s. Such a good – and empowering – song.

Thanks, Louise! I starting kicking myself after I published this post because I should have held off on using it until the next International Day of the Girl! It would have been perfect for it! I’ll probably use it then, too! ๐Ÿ˜› this song is pretty awesome!

Is it International Day of the Girl soon? I feel I should track such things, but don’t. And ANY day is a good day for empowerment! I’m sure there are other songs out there. I’m a Bif Naked fan – Love Myself Today would be a good one ๐Ÿ™‚

You’re right, Louise, 6hat song is also a good one. The next International Day of the Girl is Oct. 11, 2015. I will most definitely be using one of these songs to commemorate this day!
