Build a Home for Adventures with PL-UG Build Your Own Fort – Ultimate Kit!
Kids LOVE going on adventures! Looking back on my memories, some of the best times I had wereat home with my siblings building a fort out of the couch cushions and sheets. We were instantly whisked away to various places by our imaginations to live out our adventures. The VPs in my home also love building structures around our home, imagining they are a million miles away. When I was asked to have my VPs try building and playing in the PL-UG Build Your Own Fort Ultimate Kit by PlaSmart, I jumped at the chance to see if this set could take my VPs to parts unknown without leaving our home.
The PL-UG Build Your Own Fort Ultimate Kit allows for kids to attach joints and poles to numerous items around your home in order to create a structure for fun and imaginative play. Walls, furniture, windows, patio doors, and even trees can be used to help create a fort your kids can enjoy.
When we received our Ultimate Fort Kit, I was really curious as to how all of these bits and pieces would be able to build a fort my kids would be able to play in.
This Ultimate Kit contains the following pieces:
- 8 Rods
- 4 Discs
- 2 Clamps
- 2 Hooks
- 2 Suckers
- 2 Pegs
- 4 Grips
- 1 Sheet
- 1 Two-sided English-French sign
Since this set can be used both indoors and outside, I decided to try it out in the comfort of my living room first. After assessing the space in my living room, I decided to have the fort built in one of its corners. The VPs rolled up their sleeves to help put this kit together. We used two dining room table chairs to help support our fort. The VP of Cuteness played a big role in the construction of the fort. She helped to snap the pieces together and to clamp, hook, and snap pieces together.
The VP of Cuddles decided to help to put the finishing touch the “Keep Out” sign onto the completed structure.
Ta da! Their fort was ready for fun, imaginative play.
It was a snug fit for the two of them, but they did not care. They were laying out, giggling and having fun in their new fort!
Movie Night was upon us, so I thought it was a good idea to move their fort in front of our TV. It was simple to manage, and with our ottoman set behind it for added support, our fort was successfully transported to the centre of our living room for a night of fun.
The VPs said they felt as though they were camping in their new fort. To give their adventure more of a camping feel, I threw away my original plans for dinner and whipped up some camp fare for them to eat. They had a blast in their new world of imagination.
We then took the PL-UG Build Your Own Fort to our Backyard Oasis to see how well it would do outdoors. The VP of Cuteness continued to take the lead in piecing the fort together outside as well. Since we have a large table and chairs on our deck, we used them to assemble a larger fort than the one we had indoors. I also added some blankets to make their fort comfier on the inside.
Once again, the VP of Cuddles was on hand to place the final piece of the fort.
And just like that, the VPs had a place to play and relax outdoors.
The VPs really had a blast with the fort outside. They were able to stretch out or sit while playing or reading a book with ease. I love taking my work outside when the VPs are playing in our Backyard Oasis. This fort allowed them to play while I was working at the table above.
There were a few issues I had while using this kit. I found the clamps to be helpful pieces in this kit to use to attach the poles to objects when assembling the fort, but they also proved to be one of the more troublesome pieces. We found that it needed to be attached to an object with ridges in order to keep its grip well. The chairs we clamped them to had smooth edges, and if the kids playing in them were pulling on the structure too much, the clamp would not hold its grip. The structure did not fall apart, but it did not stay attached.
Another issue was that I wish there were more polls. I felt that a bigger fort could be made, especially indoors, if I had two more polls to expand on the space it could expand.
Overall, the VPs really enjoyed constructing and playing in their PL-UG Build Your Own Fort Ultimate Kit by PlaSamrt. It was easy for us to figure out different configurations to put our indoor and outdoor forts. The pieces were simple to attach to each other and to the objects needed to construct a structure. We may have encountered a few issues with this set, but it did not affect the overall fun the VPs had in their fort. Every time we build our fort, the VPs created fun adventures to go on for hours of imaginative play.
