Cheery Cherry Lemonade
A bright and sweet drink to sip and enjoy for summertime fun or any day!
  1. Pit cherries.
  2. Place cherries and 1/2 a cup of water in a medium saucepan. Bring ingredients to a boil, then reduce heat to minimum. Smush boiled cherries to release more of the fruit’s juices. Place a lid on the saucepan and let simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. While cherries are simmering, squeeze the juice of the lemons.
  4. Once the cherries have finihsed simmering, strain cherries to get rid of the pulp. Let cool while preparing the rest of the juice.
  5. To make the simple syrup, pour sugar or honey and 1 cup of water into a small saucepan on low to medium heat. Stir ingredients until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove saucepan from the burner
  6. Mix the lemon juice and the simple syrup into a pitcher. Add 2 cups of cold water to this mixture and stir.
  7. Add cherry juice to lemonade, stir thouroughly and taste. If the juice is too sweet, add more water to reduce its strength.
  8. Cool juice in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  9. Pour into glasses and enjoy!
Recipe Notes

When squeezing the lemons, press your hand down on the lemon and roll them on your cutting board or counter a few times. It will make juicing them easier. For a tarter flavour, slice a lemon into thin circles and add it to your cherry lemonade while chilling.
