Water. This is NOT the way I like to stay hydrated. I know! I know! Water is so important to being healthy. But let’s face it: it’s boring! There is no colour, and there is certainly no flavour to it. I know there has to be a way to make sipping on this lack lustre liquid more flavourful while making me a better me.
I thought about some of the flavours I love and one of my favourite combos came to mind: Strawberry Lemon. It is sweet, tart, and absolutely delicious. Since I love a good glass of lemonade, I wondered if a lemon infusion with strawberries and mint would work. I gave it a try and it made drinking water better.
Strawberry Lemon Mint Water
One of my favourite parts about this Strawberry Lemon Mint Water infusion was actually putting it together. It is a quick and simple drink to create. Watching the ingredients blend together almost makes me not want to drink it. It is simply beautiful.
The ingredients on their own are all gorgeous. Each of them have bright, bold colours and have their own distinct flavours.
Along with its beauty, Strawberry Lemon Mint water provides sippers with a list of health benefits (yeah, I know!). This makes this infusion a little tastier for me to want to drink.
Strawberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C, folate (Vitamin B9), and potassium. These berries are also rich in antioxidants and plant compounds which may help with heart health and blood sugar control.
Lemons are a power-packed citrus fruit. They are also an excellent source of Vitamin C, and help to increase heart health. Lemons also aid in controlling weight, preventing kidney stones, improving digestive health and so much more!
Don’t count mint out of this combo! Mint leaves aid in digestive health, help to improve mental awareness, and reduces nausea and stress.
Even though strawberries are at their peak in early summer, this Strawberry Lemon Mint water can be enjoyed any time of the year! Since it is so simple to make, you can put it together in the morning and have it ready to serve and sip on in the afternoon. This could also be whipped up the night before to be enjoyed the next morning!
