Hey, Readers! Easter is here! The Annual Easter egg hunt has come and gone, and the chocolate has been eaten by kids big and small at our house! To keep the sugar high alive, I threw together this Colourful and Sweet Easter Bark Recipe to add some colour and some fun to our celebration this …
Hiya Readers! It was our first Easter in our new home, so we couldn’t wait for the Easter Bunny to visit us and hide all of his sugary treats around our home. The past few years, my family has been in small apartments, so the hunt for Easter eggs was easy for our kids. This …
My family loves Halloween! Since my little ones are a bit older to enjoy the day a bit better, we decided to get everyone involved in the preparations for Halloween, 2013!
As you can see in the first collage, we were preparing our main jack-o-lantern. My partner/boyfriend wanted it to have the face of Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas, so he found the template, and hacked away. We got our youngest daughter to help separate the pumpkin seeds from the rest of the pumpkin insides. She was very meticulous about this job. As you can see, our little guy was hard at work…well, maybe he’ll help out more next year! And there is our jack-o-lantern! I think my resident artist did a fabulous job!
In this collage, I put together some of the pics from Halloween Night at our house. You can see my oldest went as some form of secret agent, while our youngest daughter was suppose to be a pumpkin, but in true diva fashion, she refused to wear it, so she was some sort of bear (It was all in her hat). Luckily, she’s young and cute, so she got away with it this year! This was also her first year trick-or-treating. The thing with the bat on it is her candy bag. She liked getting the candy, but she loved giving it away even more! I had to stop her from giving away too much candy. The little tike was Scooby Doo this year. Taking a page out of his older sister’s playbook, he chose not to wear his SCooby Doo hat that had Scooby’s head on it. Nonetheless, he was very cute! Those were our jack-o-lanterns on our porch. Time got away from us this year, so we only had 2 of them. Next year, we want to have one for each of us (5 in total), as well as doing more work on the porch. That fuzzy jack-o-lantern hat was covering the candy bowl, so the little ones wouldn’t get into it. Last, but certainly not least, that was my oldest daughter’s haul from trick-or-treating! She literally had a pillow case full of treats! She went out with her friend, and she will have enough candy for a VERY long time!
Overall, we had a good time this Halloween. As usual, it went by too quickly. 🙁
Next stop on the celebration trail: Christmas! It’s my absolute favourite time of year! I can’t wait!
Until my next post, Readers!
